A Northern Girl in North Carolina: Part 1

   

The sun is harsh on this Northern girl’s fair Irish skin. There are misshapen patches of brilliant red cut by white clothing lines. In a few days the patches of red will mellow into a shade  the color of cinnamon, and everyone back home will marvel at my nice Southern tan.
