Poemlet Tuesday: Layers

Happy Tuesday folks!

I apologize for being so neglectful this weekend. The semester is winding down, and I’ve been really busy and stressed. I think that for the time being I shall be taking a break from weekend posting, just until the semester ends. Then, get ready for Christmas season weekend posts! :D

For the next few weeks I’ll be doing a series of small poems on Tuesdays. I wrote a few little poemlets (don’t you love that word? :o) That I want to share. They’re short and (hopefully) sweet. So enjoy today’s little morsel of poetry! It’s called

Layers

Paper peels,

and I can see

decades in the bark,

colors faded and stained,

outdated and torn.

If walls could talk

(which is atrocious, for they do),

this one would be brilliant.

I need no history book.
